Becca Cosmetics is one that has always been on my radar but one that I've never really purchased from before. Maybe because it's not available at my local boots store or maybe it's because I'm just a creature of habit... but boy did this Sephora purchase change my life. Whilst in America in June - so many months ago...I just had to stop by Sephora (more than once) and treat myself to some make up that I wouldn't purchase from Boots normally. So alongside a few other things, I picked out the Becca Be a Light Face Palette. This pretty palette drew my eye because it literally has everything you need to create a flawless face. From contour to blush, blurring to brightening - this palette truly does provide it all! I have been using this palette now, pretty much everyday for the last 6 months and I feel like I couldn't live without it now at all. The blush is my absolute favourite thing about this palette as it creates such a gorgeous glow instead of being a plain matte one-coloured blush that I used to use. Personally I use the darker of the two bigger palettes for my contouring as I have fairly pale skin, however when I do decide to go for a more glam look (which unfortunately is very rare) I do use the intended contouring colour. I love this palette as you can very easily and subtly create the contour which is perfect for when you need to get your makeup done very quickly. The brightening powder is great for your whole face as it sets make up perfectly - however I would say that for setting under eyes you still need a slightly brighter product if you have particularly dark circles under your eyes such as myself. After trying this palette for such a long time - I can hand on my heart say that I absolutely adore this palette and my makeup bag just wouldn't be the same without it. The product is so good, especially if you need all your products in one place and are on the go but still want to create that gorgeous flawless look! It's definitely safe to say that I will definitely continue to buy this product when I hit the dreaded pan and will also be trying some other Becca products to see if I love them like I love this palette! It may have taken a while but it is finally here. Let's say hello to the cold weather. I know what you're probably all thinking; I want it warm again but I myself am a self-confessed lover of the cold weather. There's something about when there's a cool breeze in the air, orange leaves on the ground and there is a festive feeling all around. As a self-confessed lover of autumn/winter - I obviously love Halloween. So of course there was a trip to our local pumpkin patch was in order. For my an autumn uniform includes a class pair of black jeans, a big baggy jumper with a tartan scarf. To make this even more autumnal I added my fedora in for an instant wintery feel. I'm actually in my element with winter clothing and I cannot wait to bring out my furry teddy coat that makes me feel as snug as a bug in a rug. The countryside is the best place in the autumn as well with the fallen leaves, dewy fog filled fields - all I need now is my own little dog to run through the fields with.
Happy halloween everyone! So I'll be honest, I've been having a love affair with homeware. But I've been missing Fashion so much - sometimes I wish I was still at uni so I could get my daily dose of fashion. Alas I have started the world of being a working girl and I need to get my fashion butt in gear. Workwear and fashion is something that is completely new to me and I'm not sure about the territory to tread (so if anyone has any workwear posts, hit me up). But over the next few months I am definitely going to try so expect a post all about it soon! But for now; I am here to talk about my favourite season of Autumn. I'll be honest I'm not really a summer girl - this year I loved summer (mainly because I went to disney - hopefully I'll have that post finished very very soon!!) but I'm always excited when the temperatures start to cool and I can start to bring the knitwear out. So although, I've been cheating on fashion with homeware - I thought I'd put a little edit together of all the things that have caught my eye for Autumn. Clearly I have a colour palette... Fashion I am coming back to you and I am so excited; see you on the flip side with some autumn outfits and a bonfire spiced hot chocolate. xoxo
Hiyaaa everyone...it's been a minute hasn't it?
I'd love to say that I had the greatest excuse for being totally MIA but in all seriousness I really don't. The past 3 months have been a total blur. There have been holidays, new jobs, graduation and new houses and to be honest I've had very little time to even think about my blog. Inspiration has seemed to dip too, Hauteonmyheels has always been something I've loved to do but really it felt like a little bit of a chore after I came back from Florida. I love my blog but I feel a little but like I lost sight of why it was important to me and exactly what I wanted my blog to be. All in all I feel like I've grown since I started this blog 3 years ago, and as I've grown I've wanted my blog to grow alongside me as well. My inspirations, ambitions and personal beliefs have changed and I want hauteonmyheels to reflect that. I am glad that I took the chance to take time away from creating content as it's allowed me to take a step back and view myself how I want to be viewed. I've learned recently to not take myself too seriously and to be more positive each day - that's why moving forward my blog will start to reflect that. Instead I will choose to write about what I want instead of what I feel like I have to. Sorry about the rambles but I wanted to get my thoughts and feelings onto paper (well more screen) and to hope that readers of my blog will realise why I took some time to myself. Until next time (hopefully not too far in the future), over and out. xoxo Oh, hi again. Look at me, getting my stuff together and writing 2 blog posts in one week, clearly finishing university was good for Hauteonmyheels. I've definitely mentioned this far too much for those people who spend time with me, but 9 days till I go on holiday to Florida and I'm more than excited! However, the other day, separating my wardrobe into clothes that I want to take away and clothes for everyday wear, I realised that I am lacking in a few departments. So since I was scrolling around the web, looking for a graduation dress anyway (suggestions more than welcome) then I thought I'd have a little look at the ASOS holiday shop. Low and behold, I found so much that I wish I could add to my holiday wardrobe (seriously, ASOS take my money now) but since I'm a budget, here are my top 10 picks from the holiday shop! 1 ) The first thing, that I absolutely love is this cute little daisy-print mini dress. I love the little cut-out detailing and absolutely adore mini sundresses so I can try get as much of a tan (burn) as much as possible. For me, I think this would be super cute for walking around the Epcot park World Showcase. 2 ) Second thing that I fell in love with is this Black culotte jumpsuit. The light linen fabric for this jumpsuit is perfect for the plane journey as it'll be super comfy and be perfect for that first hit of Floridian/Abroad warmth. Probably not as comfy if you use the toilets on planes as you'll have to practically get naked but I myself tend to avoid them as much as possible. 3 & 4 ) Bikini's are something that I tend not to wear very much, mainly because I don't really ever go swimming and typically go on one holiday a year. But I love this swimsuit, the crinkle cut material is really what drew me towards this as I get such 80s vibes, plus I'm an absolute suck for anything striped. 5 ) Every girl needs at least one maxi dress per holiday, they look so chic and can be worn up or down depending on your situation. I love the high square neck line with this one and the floral print is so cute (Florals for Spring/Summer..). The elegance of this dress would look perfect for some wedges for a fancy meal out at night. 6 ) As I said before, I actually adore mini dress and when they come in my favourite print (spots..) then its just an absolute winner for me. Again I love the high neck on this dress as it can be worn day or night, this could be worn to the beach, to dinner or even to the Disney Parks like I would! 7 ) Absolutely had to include these Superga's as soon as I saw them. I'm actually obsessed with espadrille trainers, particularly my mothers from River Island and Amy's very similar to these. They look so perfect for days when you're doing quite a bit of walking and also perfect plane attire as they are super chic yet look extremely comfortable. 8 ) Probably not so great for plane attire, particularly if you have to take your shoes off at security. But I've become a huge fan of wedges this past year, before you wouldn't find me anywhere near them, but now I've reached my 20s they seem a lot more appropriate for me. Also who would want to wear uncomfortable heels in the heat when you could wear these instead. 9 ) Number 9 just had to be a straw bag, I actually adore these. They've been having a moment since that infamous Zara bag last year and although the Cult Gaia bag is top this year with all the dupes around..I'm still a huge fan of the straw bag. This one is definitely a day time bag and would be great for the beach or a water park! 10 ) Last but not least, one of the integral pieces to have in any girls wardrobe is a pair of blue denim shorts. Personally I'm a huge fan of denim and pretty much wear it every other day so denim shorts are always a winner for me. I personally favour mom shorts as I think they suit me better and also I don't like showing my bum cheeks to the whole world quite as much as I did when I was 16. These are perfect because they can be worn day to night, with a t-shirt, a linen shirt or even a cute tank top. I'm now super excited to go on holiday and planning out little outfit scenarios in my head of what I can wear to each park and firework display. Please note: post is not sponsored, I just loved every single piece from the ASOS holiday section so had to share it! Over and out. |
