Finally, it is my favourite time of the year! Winter is....coming (oh wait, it's here!). I've always been a cold weather kinda gal - the sun and me have a love/hate relationship, you know with all the sunburn and everything. I truly treasure a crisp morning, wrapped up in my scarf and gloves, seeing my breath form in the air in front of me and the possibility of the blanket of snow I yearn for every year!
In order to winter like a blogger, you will need: - A cold weather tolerance - Christmas coffee cups - Endless amounts of coats Instructions to follow... (N.D. Please read in the humorous way in which this post is intended as I myself actually do all the mentioned things!)
1) Excessively over buy coats
Make sure you buy them in every colour, thickness and length. You definitely don't want to be caught wearing your pink faux fur coat when it is quite clearly a camel teddy borg coat kinda' day. Extra tip: instagram a different one everyday for maximum winter aesthetics. 2) Throw away any trace of tights Bare legs are best; it's time to work up your tolerance to the cold weather. For the ultimate winter aesthetic make sure to team your most Christmassy mini skirt with your over the knee boots and et voila you have the ultimate blogger winter outfit (and my most favourite go-to outfit!). 3) Visit every coffee shop to try their Christmas drinks* Make sure you try every Christmas themed drink and don't forget to instagram it (because lets face it, if you don't did it really happen?!). To winter in true blogger style feature said cup in a "fwis" (from where I stand post) wearing your fresh out the box chelsea boots. *also visit endless amounts of Christmas markets to get the full selection 4) Shoot blog post on coldest time of day Crack of sunrise/just before dusk to get that low light grainy blogger aesthetic. Scout out your s.o/bestfriend/mother/etc to half freeze to death whilst you find the best location for said blog pictures and ensure to ask them to just do a few more when you say you're nearly done. (Shoutout for my boyfriend for helping with this!).

Long time, no see I know. These past few weeks have been especially busy - just as I get into the swing of my final year of uni my dooming deadline comes creeping up on me. Pair that with halloween, working part time and me feeling more exhausted than ever; I decided that it wasn't necessarily a bad thing to just take a little bit of time away from social media and blogging to focus on my first report of my final year. In past blog posts I preached a lot about taking time away from social media, having breaks every so often and given tips on how to stay motivated (even in the colder months); I said all these things yet I never exactly followed my own advice, I'd do it for a day or so and then would jump straight back into work and stress myself out even more. However if the last three weeks have taught me anything it's that time to yourself is very important.
During my time off, I've been enjoying the little things in life and the things that I love to do in winter. As my looming deadline approaches, which is then swiftly followed by the second part of my dissertation work I've made a vow to practice what I preach and do these things every week so this winter I don't feel so overwhelmed.
How do you plan on taking time out for yourself and getting yourself de-stressed throughout the winter?
