Second in the love affair series is all about one of my favourite trends for this season: Sleeve Details. This season everywhere I look there is flared sleeves, ruffle sleeve, extra long sleeves and I absolutely love it. Each of the different sleeve details create gorgeous details to every outfit, whether they add a tailored look, or a delicate look I just can't get enough of it. Both the high street and the catwalks have been showing some gorgeous outfits that I just couldn't help but pin to my Pinterest. This trend is one that I just can't wait to incorporate into my wardrobe, the puffed flared sleeves or the long draped ruffles sleeves are some of my absolute favourite looks when it comes to street style lately. These are definitely going to take centre stage for my S/S wardrobe!
What do you think about this trend and where are some of your favourite looks for this trend from?

I swear I change my foundation more times than is normal, I normally read a review and say I have to try that, or just get completely bored of my current foundation. However lately I've invested in slightly higher end foundations such as my gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury foundation (read the review here) but using that everyday just doesn't feel right - and to be honest I wanted to see if I could find a drugstore foundation that I would absolutely love. Anyway, on one of my many trips to Boots, I decided to stop by the Loreal Counter and as luck would have it, there was an offer for 2 for £12 on Loreal Cosmetics. Naturally I couldn't walk away from this offer empty handed, so I decided to pick up the True Match Foundation and the True Match powder as I'd seen many bloggers and famous faces on TV endorsing it and just had to have it! | THE PRODUCT | The shade that I chose for the foundation is 1.N as this shade seemed to have an equal amount of yellow and pink tones. For the powder I chose to get the shade Rose Ivory which has more pink tones than yellow tones as I have a rather rosy skin tone. The product claims to be super bendable and super natural. The foundation promises to be long lasting with even coverage that will match your skin tone and skin texture to create a luminous glow everyday! The foundation retails at £9.99, whilst the powder retails at £6.99. | WHAT DID I THINK? | First things first, the foundation! With so many people endorsing this, I expected this to be absolutely amazing, and I was not disappointed! The formula is super creamy and is so easy to blend and completely buildable. The foundation lasts for so long, usually I find my foundation starts to rub off or disappear through the day so when I got home the other day and found this foundation still firmly on, I was super happy! The powder - I am usually skeptical when it comes to powders, as they either don't last or end up looking cakey. However I was pleasantly surprised with this powder, it does exactly what it says! It is super blendable that creates such a natural look with a luminous glow all day. Overall, I would definitely recommend these products. They are super affordable; yet they create a flawless looking skin and are long lasting - in fact they've lasted longer than some of my more high end products, so I'm really impressed. Have you tried the Loreal True Match range?
Denim is basically the core of my wardrobe, as my friends and family will tell me I probably wear jeans way too often! But well, why not if you feel comfy and confident. So as the denim addict that I am, I'm always searching for the perfect pair of jeans. When searching the high street for the perfect pair of jeans, it has been fairly hard since most of them tend to be too big on my waist, too small on my bum or just don't feel comfy at all. Normally I swear by the cult favourite 'Joni' jeans from Topshop, however I wanted to try something just a little different and I found my favourite go-to jeans that I think are my perfect pair. The Next 360 Super Skinny jeans are something you all should get your hands on, they are super comfy, fit like a glove and keep their shape really well!
So as a typical beauty loving girl, I love to mix things up between high end and high street makeup; however being on a student budget means I can't always buy the products that I necessarily want to get! However imagine my surprise when one of my Christmas presents (yep, still working my way through the products) was the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Party Eyes Gift Set! In the gift set was a mini version of the Legendary Lashes Mascara and Eyeliner. So I don't very often use eyeliner but mascara is always in my makeup routine, so this blog post is going to focus on the Legendary Lashes mini mascara. The Charlotte Tilbury website states that this mascara creates a "thick, lush Hollywood false lash effect that will enhance the shape of your eye, bring out the eye colour and frame the entire face." It also claims that within 3 coats of the formula you are likely to have 13x more volume in your eyelashes. So what did I think? Colour: It is definitely a very intense black, that means you are instantly drawn to the eyes. I loved the dramatic look that this mascara gave my eyes; if I wanted a less intense look then I just added one coat onto my eyelashes, but for the full 'party' eyes effect three coats of this creates a very intense black that truly defines the eyes. Application: The brush is fairly thick as it has brittles that are different sizes that create an even application onto the different size lashes. For me this applied super easy and didn't dry and crack meaning that when I went back over my lashes it wasn't all clumpy. Personally I really love the brush size as it creates a gorgeous voluminous look! The wear: The formula is really creamy so you don't feel like you have painted your eyes, it feels quite natural to wear. It looks super pretty in which ever style you decide to do, personally I favour the wing lash effect! My one thing about this product is that it does smudge fairly easy if you do rub your eyes, so I would recommend using an eyelash primer. Overall: I really do love this product, and it was nice to get to test it with the mini version before I committed the £25 to the full size version. If you love an intense showstopping eye, then the legendary lashes is definitely for you! Have you tried the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes mascara? Or what's your favourite high end product, I'd love to know! Hey everyone, yes I know long time no see..But I'm here now, and bringing you a brand new post! Lately I have basically been stress central and procrastination queen; everything in life seems to have taken a crazy turn and I find myself trying to write a 4000 word report, a 1000 word executive summary and a 5 minute presentation but that's okay because I love University really! So while I've been stressing about this along with many other things; I've been dropping the ball with my blog lately. But today's post is all about the things that can de-stress you when life is just getting way to crazy. #1 Blog, blog and blog somemore While I do agree that sometimes taking a break from blogging is completely beneficial especially when you are stressing about other things; it can also help absolute wonders. Writing definitely helps to get your emotions out, so whether you end up posting what you write or waiting to publish until you have a bit more time; drafting some posts can definitely take your mind off things. #2 Lose yourself in your reading material Whatever your reading, whether it be glossy fashion magazines or a classic novel losing yourself in a book is some of the best distractions you could ever have. So snuggle down with your favourite hot drink, a cosy blanket and lose yourself in the story of "To Kill a Mockingbird" or discover the cultural changes that are impacting fashion, and I promise you'll feel less stressed in next to no time! #3 Give yourself a pamper Every once in a while, it's time to put your work down and do something to make yourself feel good. Whether that be taking 5 minutes longer in the shower because you want to exfoliate, an extra 10 minutes to paint your nails (hands and toes!) or a 15 minute facemask. Guaranteed these little things are going to make you feel a little more relaxed! And if you definitely feel you do not have time for that, then put on your sassiest lipstick and you'll feel like you have your self together. If you're feeling stressed then definitely give these little things a go, they have worked absolute wonders for me. I'd love to know what you do to relax and de-stress though! |
