It's that time of year again where the nights start to draw in and there is evening a slight chill in the air. I'm feeling more and more autumnal by the second and since it is my (joint 1st with winter) favourite season; I thought I would share some of the things that I get up to on my Autumn evenings. I've previously mentioned all the things I love about Autumn (and if you haven't read that post then you can read it here) and one thing I really do love is spending much needed evenings to relax as with University and work I am constantly busy! So without babbling on too much here is five things I love to do on Autumn evenings. 1. Enjoy the changing season with a walk Okay, so I don't tend to go out when it is pitch black outside but the (cool-afternoons-that-are-turning-into-evenings) around 4/5pm are perfect because it's not fully dark but it isn't bright either; it's the perfect dusk time to take a little stroll/run/jog out and about. You can enjoy the changing of the seasons, I'm talking crunching orange and yellow leaves beneath your feet. Personally I find that just taking my dog out for a walk when it's dusky and chilly just helps me relax after a long busy day. (P.s; if you do go out in the dark, please stick to well lit busy areas!) 2. Grab a cuppa, light a candle and get lost in a good book! I seem to never have enough time to read everything at the moment; I have about 4 different books just waiting for my attention. So I'm dedicating a few of my Autumn evenings to turning off the TV and losing my imagination in a good book; to make these evenings even more relaxing why not grab of cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, cuddle up in a blanket and light your most Autumnal candle (mine is currently the Anthropologie Pumpkin Soufflé). 3. Give yourself a good pamper I'm sure we are all lovers of those peaceful, relaxing pamper evenings. Autumn is a perfect time to pamper yourself; with the ever-changing weather your skin needs all kind of treatments (I recommend the Garner Moisture Boost Tissue Masks - they are my absolute favourite; read my review here). Even if you only paint your nails, give your hair a conditioning treatment or go-full face mask; you're guaranteed to feel on top form for the Autumn while also feeling extremely relaxed! 4. Relax with your favourite movies I can't be the only one who absolutely loves just getting into my pjs, with a cup of tea and re-watching all my favourite movies. There's nothing better to me then being all cosy inside, either listening to the rain or watching it get darker while watching my all-time favourites! Current watches include: Love Actually (festive I know), Clueless and Harry Potter. To make you feel even more relaxed a cosy; why not grab those few chocolates staring at you! 5. Get into the seasonal spirit Since it's Autumn that means one thing: HALLOWEEN, BONFIRE NIGHT AND CHRISTMAS! I'm such a sucker for these A/W festivities - I'm already planning my Christmas presents for people, thinking about the Fireworks display to attend and which face I'm going to carve into my pumpkin this year! So why not on your relaxing night off research any special events near you, or bake some pumpkin spiced goodies and get into the season spirit! What are your favourite things to do on the Autumn evenings?

I love Autumn; as I'm sure you've all gathered by the excessive amount of times that I've mentioned it both on twitter and in blog posts (in fact I dedicated a whole blog post to it - read it here)! With Autumn, comes the chillier days and that can mean one thing - it's deemed acceptable to wear boots again! (FINALLY!) As previously mentioned in said blog post; I have a love affair with boots every year and this year is certainly no different! I've already eyed up all the boots that are just waiting to be purchased and worn out to various seasonal activities (think Halloween Scare night, Bonfire Displays and Christmas Market visits) as well as you know everyday University trips. Anyway enough with all my chatty tangents; here are my top Boot picks for this Autumn winter! I'd love to know what boots you are loving; ready for your A/W wardrobe!
Hey Guys! I know what you are thinking, it's not even the end of September yet - so why am I banging on about beauty advent calendars?! Well every year; these sell out so fast or get released earlier and earlier. I currently have my eyes on a few so I thought I would round up a few of the ones that you may want to pick up this year! Nothing beats a good old chocolate advent calendar (Especially the one with the lindt teddy bear!) however who can say no to mini sized (and the odd full-sized) beauty product to see them through the cold december month?! Benefit 12 days of Gorgeous Calendar (Girl O’Clock Rock) - £34.50 (available here) Who doesn’t love a good benefit product, the POREfessional is pretty much every girls secret weapon I think. Benefit have given you full information on everything you’ll receive from this advent calendar; including a mini hoola bronzer, a POREfessional mini and a mini ‘they’re real! mascara!. Plus the calendar even plays a ‘Bene-song’ when opened. The release date for this product is the 14th of October so make sure you make a mark in your diary as I’m sure this will sell out pretty fast. No7 Bright Lights Big City Beauty Calendar - £39 (available here) There was so much hype around this product last year, that I’m pretty sure it sold out in record time! Being No7 you are sure to get some amazing skincare and beautiful makeup products from behind each door of this advent calendar. While there isn't much information regarding what you’ll receive from the product (at least you’ll be surprised!) they did let it slip that the calendar will include 3 limited edition make-up brushes; which if you ask me will always be a winner. So the calendar is set to retail at £39 but is with £151 which is pretty good if you ask me. There isn't currently a release date for this calendar yet; however you can sign up to be emailed as soon as they know the release date! Ciaté Mini Mani Month - £50 (Available here) This advent calendar is a dream, if like me you are nail polish hoarder then you will know this is top of the wishlist! So first of all, let’s just take a minute to appreciate this design; honestly the London landmarks mixed with the rose gold is just dreamy. This advent calendar promises 18 mini pain pots and a full sized one with a few surprises (including one that is limited edition!). For £50; I actually think this is an absolute must because let’s face it Ciaté nail polish retails mostly at £9 a pot, so it’s pretty good value for money. This advent calendar has already been released on the Ciaté website; and I’m sure much like last year it will be in selected Boots stores but make sure you are quick as they won’t last for long! ASOS Beauty Calendar - £50 (Available here) Shall we just take a minute to appreciate how instagrammable this advent calendar actually is guys; I mean the marble effect is something else! the calendar promises Skincare, makeup and hair care from some of your favourite brands including Elemis, Philosophy and Nip&Fab. This is on my definite to get list so lets hope that it doesn't sell out before I get paid! The calendar is already available on the ASOS website for £50 but is worth £175 in total. So get shopping quickly as I don't think this one will stick around for long! Look Fantastic Advent Calendar - £70 (Available here) I heard, such amazing things about the Look Fantastic Advent Calendar last year, that I am SOOOOOO tempted to pre-order one this year! I know what you are thinking; £70 on a student budget - but let’s face it, this calendar is worth well over £300! So this is officially released on the 1st of November; however you can currently pre-order one and considering they sold out within 2 weeks last year; if you have your eyes on this one then you will definitely want to consider reserving one! Look Fantastic doesn't give away much about the calendar BUT it will include a mix of hair, skin, body and makeup products with both sample sizes and full sized products; plus just look at that rose gold design! Charlotte Tilbury - £150 (Available here) I think it’s safe to say that this is probably the one that I would love to have but probably will not be able to afford, even though I’m sure it’s worth so much more than £150! This years box contains 12 drawers each including a mini Charlotte Tilbury product (I think we are all wishing for a lipstick over here!). The product will be released in October both at Selfridges and online at Charlotte Tilbury; and if you can’t wait to find out exactly when it will be released then make sure that you sign up for the email alerts for the opening on the Christmas Shop! I know there are loads of Beauty calendars out there but this post would have been longer than all the Harry Potter books if I'd written about them all (well probably not) - however I'd love to know what beauty advent calendar you are looking forward to picking up, let me know!
(P.S if you listen to Christmas songs while reading this post, you'll get right into the Christmas mood; as I did while writing this!) Every morning I scroll through my twitter timeline and constantly see people posting about how much they love Autumn. Honestly I am exactly the same as these people; Autumn is literally one of my favourite times of year (except for Christmas!) Maybe it's because when at school, you could get a fresh perspective and set goals for your (school) year or maybe it's the weather change I love so much. It's hard to tell, so I've put together so reasons I'm obsessed with Autumn, that you may be able to relate to! (BEWARE: EXCESSIVE USE OF THE WORD 'COSY' THROUGHOUT THIS BLOG POST) 1. Cosy (foggy and possibly still dark) mornings Most people hate waking up when it's still dark but I love when the season changes, it becomes a little darker when you wake but you wake up to the most cosy days, filled with possible mist, cosy jumpers and cold noses. If this doesn't get you in an Autumn/Winter mood then I don't know what will. When I wake up all cosy, it makes my day 1000x times better. 2. Roll neck jumpers Give me a roll neck any day, they are just so cosy and everything about them screams Autumn! Plus they literally go with everything you own, why not be cute, comfy and cosy! 3. Hot Chocolates My go-to drink for any Autumn/Winter morning, and let's not get started on the Bailey's hot chocolate you'll find me sipping on as a wander round the various Christmas markets I visit. 4. Halloween Self-confessed Hallowqueen over here, think excessive amounts of jack-o-lanterns, endless amounts of sweets for trick or treaters and you better believe I have planned my outfit. I should really live in America judging by the amount that I LOVE halloween. 5. Candles I'm so ready to spend excessive amounts on various Bakery/Christmas/Season candles - this year's wishlist includes the B&B Works Pumpkin Cupcake candle, the Next Gingerbread Christmas candle, the Next Festive spiced candle and Yankees Snowflake cookie candle. (I think I may have a problem guys!) 6. Cosy Coats and Scarfs The pain of buying the most beautiful coat but not being able to wear it until November, is a struggle we English people get sometimes. Seriously I want COLD weather so I can cuddle up in my new coat and cosy-knit scarf! 7. Countdown to Christmas Yeah, I'm that girl that starts counting down to Christmas as soon as September starts; it honestly is the most wonderful time of the year! I'm super excited to hang up my stocking, decorate the tree and rock out in the car to my favourite Christmas songs! (Yes, I've already started watching the movies, I'm not even sorry) 8. Netflix Boxset marathons I can't think of anything better than spending a lazy, cosy day cuddled in a blanket, with a hot chocolate and watching re-runs of your favourite shows. (Basically endless amounts of Gossip Girl and PLL for me) 9. Seasonal Drinks Pumpkin Spiced latte? Orange hot chocolate? Salted Caramel Cappuccino? I'll take one of everything. Every morning before uni, you will find me with one of these festive drinks in my hand. Plus don't even get me started on the red cups at Starbucks and the adorable reindeer cup from Costa! 10. Finally, it's acceptable to wear boots!! I have a major love affair with boots every A/W; the faithful chelsea boot will forever be my favourite companion. But I won't be able to resist the knee highs, sock boots and heeled boots as soon as my September pay hits my bank account! 11. Berry Lips I mean, what else can I say?! Berry Lips = Autumn (I even wrote a blog post about it; which you can read here) 12. Cosy Socks Nobody likes to have cold toes, I love walking around in my big fluffy bed socks. They make me feet feel so comfy and cosy; nothing beats a pair of cashmere socks either! 13. Leaves Is there any other better feeling than crunchy through the fallen leaves and the beautiful red, orange and yellow colours that fill both the floor and tree tops. I honestly have such nostalgia of running through the park, through the crunchy leaves and finding conkers! 14. Bonfire Night I used to hate this as a kid, the sound was unbearable. However as I've gotten older I've realised that as long as you are keeping safe - then fireworks are so lovely, nothing is better than standing all wrapped up, with a candy apple, a sparkler and your loved ones while watching a gorgeous firework display. OR you could always watch them from the comfort of your own living room, I'm sure there is someone around you who just has to set some off! Just remember to keep all those pets safe! 15. PJs I'm all about a comfy, cosy pair of pjs; and hey if it's misty and cold outside; why not stay in bed a little longer and enjoy those few moments in your pjs with a warm cup of tea! I'd love to know what some of your favourite things about Autumn are, make sure you let me know!
I'm currently loving Autumn (I've probably tweeted about it, at least 7 million times!) and recently I wrote about finding the perfect Autumnal lip (read it here) so I thought I'd continue this little Autumn beauty series with Nails! I hate when my nails aren't done and they chip all the time at work; this means I often change my nail colour so I am currently searching for the perfect Autumn Nail. Guess what?! I found it!!! Okay, well I found what I think is the perfect Autumn nail colour anyway; I'm sure there is absolutely loads - however I'm all about the plum and berry hues when it comes to Autumn so my top choice for Autumn nails has to the Barry M Sunset Gel polish in the shade 'Vengeance is Wine'. I'm very aware of the fact that this was actually released last A/W but hey that doesn't mean that we can just forget about it. Look at Chanel No5 that was released many years ago but is still going strong! So onto the actually nail polish, this range is basically Gel nails without the hassle of all the UV; as long as you use it with the gel polish which is also available here. The nail polish is pretty much chip resistant for at least a week (as long as you use the gel polish topcoat) and provides a lovely glossy finish. The colour of 'Vengeance is Wine' is basically a rich plum colour therefore I brand it perfect for the cosy autumn nights. The current retail price for this product is £4.99 so it's safe to say that I think this should be in everyone Autumnal Beauty basket! I'm pretty much a nail polish hoarder so I've rounded up a few of my favourites/top picks for Autumnal Nails that I can't wait to try! I'd love to know what your go-to nail polish is for Autumn this year; make sure you let me know in the comments!
