Highlighter has to be one of my absolute favourite things in my makeup bag, in fact most of the time when I'm not even wearing makeup I'll stick just a little bit of highlight on to give me a little bit of a glow. I'm always in the market for finding a new product that I absolutely love and I'm always looking for the next best highlighter. Usually I am a powder highlight girl only as I find this easy to wear and blend - however with my oily skin it is always a little bit difficult to find a highlighter that will stay on for the majority of the day. So when I interned at Next Press Day and received the Make Me Beautiful Highlighter chubby stick in my gift bag, I knew I had to give it a go. | Formula | The formula for this highlighter is amazing! Enriched with Vitamin E; it is so smooth and creamy which means that it practically glides onto the skin from the chubby stick applicator. The satin finish of this highlighter is easy to blend into the skin to create a golden contoured look. | Colour | This highlighter "stardust glow" has a metallic golden undertone so creates a perfect glow. It blends fairly well into my very pale skin tone; however I'm sure this shade would complement most skin tones. | Overall Thoughts | Overall, I'm in love with this highlighter as it's so easy to apply and blends really well to create a gorgeous sculpted contour look. Although I did get this through a Press Day gift bag, I would definitely re-purchase this product; at £8 this highlighting stick is such good value as the formula feels amazing. I have a few other bits from the Next Make Me Beautiful range that I really can't wait to try! Have you tried any of the Make me Beautiful range from Next yet? Although this product was received within a press bag, all opinions are true and my own.

Summer has well and truly arrived in the UK and I'm absolutely loving this mini heatwave we are having! The only thing missing from it though is a crystal clear blue ocean and a white sandy beach... Anyway getting back to the blog post. I used to hate dressing for summer; I was always strictly an Autumnal wardrobe/wear black all day every day kind of girl. However with every year that goes by I'm learning things about my style and have since been loving all things summery. This outfit has become my absolute go-to summer look as it is perfect for practically every occasion. In order to get the most out of my summer wardrobe, I've been following a few simple steps so that I love each and every outfit that I choose from my closet every morning. #1 Have a colour palette I was definitely an "all black, everyday" type of girl and still am for the most of winter. But for summer I've thrown out these pieces (aka put them into storage) in favour for lighter colours - there has honestly never been so much white and pastel pink in my wardrobe! #2 Consider your staples I recently spoke about how much I love this skirt as it is part of my signature style (read all about it here) and I really do believe that having a few staple pieces in your wardrobe or a capsule wardrobe will mean you love each outfit you throw on. #3 Accessorise.. I have pieces of jewellery that I pretty much wear everyday but this summer I've been switching up my accessories - whether it's a pair of hoop earrings or an Ideal of Sweden phone case that complements my outfits - these are all things that can make or break an outfit.
I love watching my style evolve over time and I'd love to know what pieces have you been loving this summer? This post is in collaboration with Ideals of Sweden and contains products that were gifted to me; however all views, opinions and words remain my own.
This month has seen the temperature grow and with that I'm continuing to expand my wardrobe (and my wardrobe wishlist). Lately I've been loving Shay Mitchell's style - I've loved her style for so long now and with Pretty Little Liars coming to an end I thought now was the best time to write my style icon post for Shay Mitchell. In my eyes; she seriously can do no wrong, whatever she wears is absolutely perfect and I find myself lusting after most outfits that she wears. Whether it is a simple Tee, Shorts and Gucci belt ootd or whether she's giving me serious Emoji Flamingo dancer vibes; I WANT and NEED all of the gorgeous pieces that we see on a daily basis showcased through her instagram. Some of her posts have me serious lusting after more and more summer pieces (which if you know me is surprising since I used to be all about that Winter dressing!). Who's style are you loving and taking inspiration from right now? This month has started off in a whirlwind; with finishing my internship and finishing my second year of uni - I've had a lot on my plate. Therefore I took a little break from blogging in order to fully put my everything into my internship and uni work and thank goodness because a break was well and truly needed in order to get me feeling creative again. So to kick of this month's posts I thought I would do a little city guide to Rome. I was lucky enough to be whisked away to Rome for 72 hours courtesy of my sister as my 21st birthday present. Rome was an absolutely beautiful city and there was so much to do that I thought I would round up how to get the most out of 3 days exploring one of the most stunning places I have ever had the chance to visit. Being in such a beautiful place allowed me to wear some of the most beautiful outfits and thank goodness for my Ideal of Sweden phone case that matched my outfits on a daily basis. First of all lets talk about the flight; there is some great deals that aren't too expensive to get to Rome and the flight is only about 2 and a half hours (give or take a little..). | Make a wish at the Trevi Fountain | Possibly the most obvious of all the things you could do in Rome but honestly this was one of the most magical places I've ever been. The architecture of the Trevi Fountain is truly stunning and the feeling of everyone throwing coins in creates a feeling that I can't even begin to describe. Me and my sister loved this place so much that we actually visited three times in our trip; whether you go first thing in the morning or late at night - this will forever be one of the most beautiful places. Of course you have to throw a coin in and make a wish...in hope that you'll always return to Rome (or something different). | Eat Gelato and Drink a beer at the Fountain | There is some lovely shops and restaurants around the Trevi fountain and despite being in probably the biggest tourist trap ever - not all of them will break the bank. The Gelato in Italy is some of the best I've ever tasted; so sitting next to the Trevi fountain eating the freshest Lemon Gelato was definitely a highlight of my holiday. (And Yes it is totally acceptable to have gelato for breakfast...when in Roma). As for the beer (or wine if you're not into beer or non-alcohol if you aren't into alcohol) there is a stunning cafe round the corner from fountain that served what looked like the best Tiramisu I've ever seen and an ice cold Peroni. I'll be honest there's nothing quite like siting in the streets of Rome, hearing the Trevi Fountain and enjoying a nice refreshing drink. | Visit the Colosseum | This ancient Roman monument is definitely worth a visit; yes you can see it in pictures. But it is truly worth seeing it in all it's glory! Yes just like the Trevi Fountain this is a tourist trap and there is men dressed as Roman's ready to take a photo with you (for the low low price of €60) but if you look past that - this is truly a stunning thing to see. I would recommend visiting in the early evening as it isn't packed and as the sun is getting ready to retire for the day you get some gorgeous pictures. | Eat all the Pizza and Pasta | I'm a massive foodie, so when I was off to the land of Pizza I was super excited to have an authentic Italian dish. The pasta was some of the freshest and tastiest pasta I have ever had and with the view of a little Italian side street and the sound of the Trevi Fountain just a few streets away - it made the food taste even better (if that's even possible!). The pizza is another thing I'd recommend - you can even get gluten free bases - but the pizza was like none I'd even tasted before; it was impossible not to like especially when you are eating in the most beautiful places such as the Piazza Navona. | See the Sistine Chapel | I think it would be impossible to go to Rome and not be drawn to the Vatican. This place is truly beautiful; the Vatican only costs €16 to enter and I would definitely recommend getting there before midday to avoid waiting in a long queue. However if you do have to wait in the queue - don't be fooled by the men and women walking up and down the line offering you the chance to skip the queue for €60 each as chances are you aren't going to be waiting that long and I'd much rather be spending €16 than €60. Whilst you can't take photos in the Sistine you'll get to see the stunning ceiling and take photos of the Saint Peter Basilica Piazza and the gorgeous Vatican gardens. | Walk the Spanish Steps | Located in the Piazza di Spagna amongst designers such as Gucci and Fendi, this is another example of the gorgeous architecture. It is definitely worth the 138ish step walk up to the top just to see the views over Rome and the church at the top. From here you can walk to some gorgeous rooftop restaurants or just take in the hustle and bustle of Roma. Rome well and truly was beautiful; there is so much to see and do! One thing I will say is that everything is quite far apart so be sure that you are ready for endless amounts of walking and be ready to figure out the different transport options. The metro is probably the better option as it has stops near the touristy spots but prepare for it to be super busy (I'm talking central line at 8.30am busy). Also if you haven't got transport to the airport, then you can get the non-stop train from the station to Fiumicino airport. I can't wait for my next adventure; I'm currently dreaming of white sandy beaches and tropical seas - where is a place you'd love to visit?
