Hey loves, I hope you all had a fabulous bank holiday. This bank holiday I decided to pamper myself seen as this month seems to have been crazy busy. So I took a little me time and decided to give my skin a little treat; when I found the Garnier Moist Bomb Tissue Mask I knew I just had to try it! I suffer from Acne and am currently undergoing treatment with a cream that dries my skin out so much! As much as it is improving my acne, the fact that it was making my skin flaky and dry was really starting to bother me so I knew I needed a little hydration and moisturiser for dry skin just wasn't cutting it. The mask; which is left on for 15 minutes is pre-soaked and enriched with pomegranate, hyaluronic acid and plant serum. The mask promises to increase hydration for the skin, improve the look of fine lines, as well as making the skin smoother and plumper. Garnier recommend using one mask a week and they currently retail at £1 a mask; so you can definitely afford to pamper yourself with one of these masks per week. THE REVIEW
So what did I think about the mask? First of all it is super easy to apply to the skin and the mask easily contours to your face; so whatever your face shape the mask will work for you. Despite looking absolutely crazy when I was wearing this, I'm so glad I tried it! After 15 minutes and removing the mask, my skin actually felt amazing. There was a little bit of left over moisture that they recommend you either rub into your skin or simply remove with cotton pads - I chose to rub in the left over serum as I really needed the rehydration. The next morning before applying my makeup I could tell that my face felt so much less dry than it had previously as well as looking revitalised and the dullness improved. After 5 days, my skin feels so much cleaner and healthier than it did previously. Despite still battling with my acne, my skin feels rejuvenated and looks a lot smoother than before. Not only has it improved my skin without makeup; it has actually made my makeup apply a lot more evenly and look so much better. Ditching the dry skin has meant that my foundation doesn't flake or apply uneven; as well as adding a glow to my skin with or without makeup. THE VERDICT Overall, I rate this product as 10/10. It worked perfectly for me and my skin feels so much more hydrated and healthier than before. I would urge you all to give this product a go as it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin such as my own. I cannot wait to try the rest of the range! If you've tried any of the Garnier Moisture Bomb range, make sure you let me know what you think!

There is nothing I love more than travelling and exploring beautiful places - if I had it my way I would currently be island hopping around Greece; however student budgets don't tend to stretch that far! None the less that doesn't mean that I can't get away once in the while; so thanks to my lovely boyfriend we just enjoyed a mid-week trip to the beautiful city of York. York is steeped with history and there is just so much to see and do - so when booking our hotel we made sure that we picked a hotel within good walking distance of everything. That is when we came across Hotel Indigo. Hotel Indigo York is the perfect little boutique hotel with great service. So if you are thinking of staying, here are my thoughts! The Room The room was overall a good size and just about had everything that you could ever need. We made sure we got a king sized bed when we went (I'm a bed hog, apparently) and it was super comfy so it made for a good night sleep. There wasn't any road noise, I mean it is on a little street but there are restaurants and bars nearby but you couldn't hear anyone on the street (or the rain). The decor of the room was probably my favourite thing about the hotel; it was super quirky and mixed patterns so it felt like the room had character - also the decor felt like it paid attention to the historic places around York. The bathroom was beautiful (hello waterfall shower!) and there was even a speaker for the TV in the bathroom (perfect if you are listening to music). We were met by an abundance of towels, a dressing gown each and a pair of slippers - (which considering the price we paid I did not expect); the beauty products available for guest use seemed to be from a local business in York which is a lovely touch. The room had all the amenities you could wish for; with lots of tea and coffee, an ironing board, dry-cleaning surface and a mini fridge (that contains all free items!). Overall I loved the room, it had everything I was looking for and made for a really great stay. The Restaurant/Bar Okay, so we didn't actually eat at the Restaurant in the evening as we wanted to explore the city; however we did have breakfast and a few drinks from the bar. Let's start with the breakfast - there was an abundance of food to choose from. So whether you are a lover of continental or whether you are a cooked breakfast fanatic you are in for a treat. The breakfast was perfect in my eyes (and yes I did hit the buffet 3 times, I have no shame in that). The pastries and croissants were gorgeous; which could be accompanied by local meats and cheeses. The cooked breakfast also didn't disappoint either with bacon, sausage, black pudding, eggs and anything you can imagine available and finally for all you fruit lovers - there was a great choice of fruits, yogurt and nuts available to round off your perfect breakfast. Next the bar. The bar offers local craft ales and signature cocktails - along with spirits, wines and soft drinks. I just had to try the espresso martini as this is one of my favourite cocktails ever (let's just say if you are lover of strong coffee then this one is definitely for you). The craft ale (not for me) however the other half did enjoy one and said it was lovely; so if that's your kind of thing then you are definitely in for a treat! Since it poured with rain the next day and we had to pop back for our case anyway before the train; we thought we'd stop in for a drink before we left (and wait for the rain to at least slow down a little) so I grabbed luxury hot chocolate (that is actually made with chocolate!) while the other half grabbed a lager. All I can say is that it was the hot chocolate of my dreams (insert heart eye emoji here). Overall, I cannot fault this hotel - it was such a beautiful place to stay, the food and drink was amazing and the service was incredible. In my opinion, if you are looking for a place to stay in York then Hotel Indigo is a top pick for me (at such a great price as well).
Have you stayed at any of the Hotel Indigo's? I cannot believe that the summer is nearly over - as much as I love the summer, I am SO excited for Autumn (the cosy knits, the hot chocolate, Christmas and Halloween: LITERALLY the best season!). But seen as it is the last bank holiday before Christmas it is most definitely time to treat yourself. Whether you have bank holiday brunch or BBQ plans, whether you are binge watching Stranger Things or working; there is one thing to bare in mind and that's that you should enjoy every minute of your bank holiday (sorry if you are working, trust me I know the feeling!). I don't know about you guys but I literally stress so much when I have somewhere to go and try on 30 different outfits and nothing looks right; therefore I've rounded up my top Missguided picks so you can be insta-ready this bank holiday! So whatever your plans this bank holiday, make sure you head on over to Missguided and I guarantee you'll find some absolute beauties to get you through this weekend! I hope you all enjoy your bank holi-yay!

Hey Loves! I hope you are all having a lovely summer. This month has been super hard to narrow down my favourite products as I have been using so many things that I love recently (maybe it's because I have more time so I can change up my routine a little). I haven't done a favourites post in a while but I honestly have to share these products for you because I am so in love with them. So lets kick of this post! Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter in Moon Glow Lights Okay, so this season has seemed to be all about the highlighter. Personally I am a big fan of anything that is glittery and sparkly so highlighter is my absolutely my favourite thing ever. After much recommendation I decided to pick up the MR highlighter in Moon Glow for £3 from Superdrug along with some other bits. The formula is a powder so it's super easy to apply and blend; as well as being really pigmented. So far I'm really impressed every time I use this product and I cannot wait to pick up some more highlighters from this brand. (Also a little tip; if you spray setting spray and then apply your highlighter you get an amazing glow! Ted Baker Bronze Eyeshadow Palette A little confession I got this palette in a gift set for Christmas and with my abundance of makeup - I completely forgot I had (oooops). But anyway I really love this product because the colours are so beautiful and make the perfect bronzed eye (especially for those of us who aren't amazing at doing makeup!) not to mention the beautiful rose gold packaging. The colours blend beautifully and are super pigmented so there is no need to use loads. My absolute favourite shadow from this mini compact is the middle golden tone; it's absolutely perfect for blending into the crease. Unfortunately I don't think this product is available right now; however I'm sure Ted Baker is sure to bring out something just as amazing this Christmas. VS Bombshell Eau De Parfum I picked up this perfume on my travels in Florida as there was an offer that if you buy a matching Underwear set then you get a free 50ml perfume of your choice - none of that tester nonsense! I picked this as it is pretty much the Signature fragrance for Victoria Secret plus it matches my bombshell bra. It has a fruity floral fragrance to it that is definitely not overpowering at all - it is absolutely perfect for your date night fragrance or just as a subtle daytime scent. This fragrance and VS Angel are definitely two of my favourite fragrances so I'd definitely urge you to pick them up! Carex Love Hearts Handwash* I cannot describe how good this product smells; it literally makes you want to eat your hands off (Side Note: Please don't!). This beautiful pastel pink formula leaves you smelling super sweet and kills 99.9% of germs - what could be better! I love this hand wash so much because not only can you smell like sweets but it leaves your hands feeling extra nourished and super soft. Not only did I wash my hands with this product but I've also been cleaning some of my makeup brushes with it; which was the best decision ever because now they are so clean and smell incredible. I was obsessed with their strawberry laces hand wash so it's obvious I would be obsessed with this as well (now I'm just waiting for them to make it into shower gel!) I'd love to know what products you are obsessed with this month or if you've tried any of the products that I'm loving! Be sure to let me know in the comments! *(Please note: This product was gifted to me; however all opinions remain true and completely my own) |
