Hey everyone, so I have been blogging for 3/4 of a year now - which is totally crazy! I completely have fallen in love with blogging and while there are certain times when I get into a rut and have no idea what to blog about or I question whether anyone actually cares what I am writing; I definitely will not stop blogging anytime soon! Blogging has certainly taught me a lot; even in this very short amount of time it has given me so much to think about. I certainly have a long way to go before I will feel like I'm still not a novice at this but I have glanced into the blogging world and it's one of the best places to be. I believe I have learnt 5 (really) important lessons from blogging so far so here I am to share them with you. 1. It's okay to be yourself! Before I started blogging and actually went to uni for something that I loved I was very shy, had absolutely no confidence and wanted to change everything about myself. However after I finally plucking up the courage to put myself out there I realised that it's okay to be myself and that although not everyone is going to like me; there will be people who do. I realised I didn't want to be something I'm not; blogging has given me the confidence to be happy in myself and be the person I know I am! 2. Be passionate about what you write! I know a lot of people will agree with me when I say that there is nothing worse in the blogging world than writing a post that you aren't 100% happy with. When I first started blogging I thought it was going to be easy and that people would automatically read what I was writing even if it was a load of rubbish. That certainly isn't the case- I'm sure many readers can sense when you just aren't excited about a post so now I only include posts on my blog that I know I will enjoy writing and fit my personality. 3. It's important to take time for yourself! I'm sure I'm not the only one who is guilty of spending too much time worrying about my next blog post or whether my next instagram is going to fit into my account theme. However lately I have realised that it is super important to step back from the digital world and just enjoy the moment that I am living in. So put down your phone, turn off your notifications and go out and enjoy the world technology free for a day! 4. Reading blogs is key Reading other peoples blogs is one of my favourite past times; not only does it give you so much inspiration (NOT COPYING) but also it can be so relaxing- kind of like you are curling up with a good book. Aside from that reading blogs is perfect as it can help you learn to communicate and make friendships within the blogging world. 5. Taking photos can be SUCH a pain I am for sure not the only blogger who finds it difficult at times to take pictures and be completely happy with them in the winter months. Unless you live in a tropical setting where it is constantly sunny taking photos can sometimes be harder than writing the actual post. Thank you god for the lighter and brighter days/evenings! What have been some of the lessons you guys have learned from blogging?
Hannah xoxo

As much as we all love to follow trends, I personally love to have my own style rules that I follow and add little twists so the outfits are personal to me. For me I'm the type of girl who loves to buy clothes but recently I have been a little bit more careful with what I buy as I don't have disposable income so I follow these few rules when purchasing so I know they fit my own style!
Colours are important for finding your own style and they are great for helping you find those key pieces. Recently I have noticed that my wardrobe is full of monochrome, nude and khaki colours as they are what I feel comfortable in and being comfortable definitely helps you find your own style. So tip #1 is to establish what colour palette you genuinely love and feel fits your personality.
Shape of clothing is super important to me as I have quite a thin frame; as much as I love flowing dresses, wide leg trousers and big baggy jumpers - sometimes they just don't look right on me and I end up looking buried beneath my clothes! As a result of this I typically buy skinny jeans rather than loose fitting as I think they suit me better; I also really love high necks and bodysuits as they give me an hourglass figure I wish I had. However I will say that every body shape is beautiful and you can wear whatever you want; as long as you feel comfortable and confident then that's all that matters. Tip #2 is to find a shape of clothing that you think suits you and use it when buying core pieces!
I absolutely love the idea of having a capsule wardrobe and if I had more room then I would definitely have one and then a separate wardrobe for all my other clothes. But I do believe in the idea of having a few key pieces that are timeless (whether it be in fashion or just to you) so you can build your style around them. Everyone's capsule wardrobe would be different so tip #3 is to establish what key pieces your style features round and use them to develop your style identity.
When finding your own style it is only natural to look to others for inspiration whether it be from a friend, celebrity or blogger - we all do it! However once you get the inspiration you need to add your own individual stance that will help you find your own style rather than coping someone else. Tip #4 is to find inspiration and inject your own personality; because in order to find your own style you don't need to copy but be comfortable and add personality so it's tailored to you. Hannah xoxo I hope you all had a great Easter; the weather was completely up and down; but it gave me some serious wanderlust! There are so many places that I wish I could go and sometimes all I want to do is travel. I am determined to make sure I get to see all the places on my list so here are my top 5 destinations I really want to go! New York I can honestly say the majority of people I know really want to go to New York or have already been. There is so much I want to do there; the shopping, the sight-seeing and I really want to go to a basketball game! Miami I am super excited because I am actually going to Miami this year - we are also going to Orlando but I've never been to Miami! We are literally staying down the road from the Versace Mansion, and I cannot wait to go to DASH. But most importantly I cannot wait to go to Miami Beach and see what it has to offer! L.A. Anyone who knows me, knows I have wanted to go to L.A for so long. There is so much I want to see and do: the Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive and let's not forget Malibu. I'm hoping so much that I get to go to L.A. really soon because it looks so amazing! Maldives If you follow Sarah Ashcroft religiously like me then you will have seen how amazing the Maldives looks, seeing all her snapchats and pictures just made me want to go there even more than I already did. What could be better than laying on a white sandy beach with a bright blue sea surrounding you while sipping a cocktail; I for sure can't think of anything! Santorini So I have already been Santorini yet I really NEED to go back - believe me when I say it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Oia has the most beautiful sunset, Fira has some amazing views, the black Perissa Beach is gorgeous and sunbathing on a Catamaran while sailing around the Caldera has to be one of the best moments of my life. So while I have heaps of Wanderlust right now, I'd love to know where you all really want to travel to?
Hannah xoxo The Pastel trend has been around for so long now and I am so glad that it has shown no sign of slowing down! Pastel pink has quickly become my favourite colour so when I saw these trainers in River Island I knew they belonged in my ever-growing shoe wardrobe! As Spring has finally decided to show itself in England; I overhauled my tired, old winter wardrobe and dug out my favourite white jeans to put together the first of my bank holiday looks! Yes, I got another Lip Kit! If you have read my blog (or seen my instagram) you will know that I already have Dolce K and if you want to know my opinions on it then you can read it here. So I recently ordered Candy K during one of Kylie Jenner's releases and to be honest I was slightly worried that this colour was not going to suit me as I normally wear a slightly darker lip especially if it is a nude lip. Candy K is a beautiful soft, pink nude with warm undertones so it is definitely different to the brown, mauve tone in Dolce K. Candy K tends to look different depending what skin tone you have; however on my (very) pale complexion it seems to be a pinky brown lip which I actually love (as I was afraid it was going to be TOO pale for me). The Lip liner is perfectly pigmented while the liquid lipstick seems to be very light (in fact it seems to be a lighter formula than Dolce K). SO, what is my opinion on Candy K? Well, I was very excited to receive this one and I am completely in love with it. While some matte lipsticks can be very drying on the lips; I personally don't find the Kylie Lip Kit drying at all - however I do recommend you use a lip balm before apply (I use Burt's Bees) if you are prone to chapped lips as it will create a more flawless finish for the lipstick. Candy K is a great product to go to if you prefer a lighter nude lip and it has definitely made me rethink 'pink' toned lipsticks on my own complexion. In my opinion I would definitely recommend that anyone tries the Kylie Lip Kit if you are interested (but don't trust those on eBay charging a fortune!); I personally am looking forward to the next release as the new shade 'Kourt K' is being released and I love the purple colouring of it. However in the next release I am hoping to get the gorgeous 'Koko K'! I'd love to here your thoughts on the Kylie Lip Kit! Hannah xoxo |
