I sit here writing this post at 3.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon, snuggled in my ugly cardigan (that my boyfriend hates so much), with possibly my 5th cup of tea of the day wondering whether it'd be acceptable to take a nap and whether i'll manage to wake up in time {from said nap} for tonight's pointless episode. I, Hannah Louise Ryan, am a 20-something-grandma. Not in the literal sense of being a grandma, as I haven't even got my own children yet but more in the personality sense. Ask my boyfriend, ask my family, ask my friends: they will all tell you the exact same thing that I am a huge grandma. But honestly? I am truly okay with that. Being a 20-something-grandma doesn't make me boring, it just means I enjoy different things to other people. Going out to a club is not the one for me, a few cocktails at a bar or dinner out is definitely for me. Staying up late watching scary movies till 2am in the morning; you go ahead but I guarantee within 20 minutes of the movie I have most likely fallen asleep (especially if you put it on after 9pm). I definitely enjoy stuff that a normal 20 year old does; I'm addicted to the Kardashians, and love a good true crime documentary to get my teeth into. I love spending time with my friends, chatting over coffee or breakfast and I definitely have the energy and sense of humour of a child sometimes. Also ironically, I'm going to Walt Disney World in less than two weeks and I'm definitely not like a grandma there! But other times, I want to sit back with my book, put on the local Radio station, drink my cup of tea, indulge in a box set, get in my pjs early and be the 20-something-grandma that I've grown to love. I used to think that being like this made me strange or boring but it doesn't, it's what makes me, me. I'm okay with being a 20-something-grandma and you should be okay with me being like that too. Now, over and out, as I'm off to pop the kettle on (probably green tea time now), grab a slice of cake and settle down watching a few episodes of Desperate Housewives. Ciao.

I'm finally back with a brand new beauty post featuring a brand that has been in my spotlight over the past month (technically two as I bought these in March). Thank goodness that I'm finally getting round to posting about these products. The brand that I'm featuring this month is a new brand recently launched in Boots under the name of CYO. CYO was initially launched in America in the Walgreen Stores and has made its way over to the UK. The brand is a new part of the Boots portfolio and prices are within the lower side of the spectrum (think Makeup Revolution Prices). {Fun fact: I actually worked with CYO in University with some fab girls on a new product development for them, so got to know a few little secrets before it had even launched!) As a result of working with the brand in my second year of University, when it came to the UK, I couldn't help but pick something up to see exactly what the brand had to offer. The brand had a cheeky little 3 for 2 deal as well, so naturally I picked up 3 things I was desperate to try. I picked up the J'Tame Brow and Lash Gel (Rosie, in honour of you), the Cool as a coconut Bronzing Stick and the All Set Finishing Powder. |
